Thousands of students greeted at Canberra CareersXpo

Study Canberra Student Ambassadors will be out in force this week to promote Canberra’s education credentials to students from local and regional NSW schools.

Canberra CareersXpo will take place at Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) this Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 August 2016.

Organisers are expecting over 7,000 school students from year’s 9 to 12 to attend the event, along with parents, teachers and career advisers.

The CareersXpo is the largest event of its type in the region with over 100 local and national exhibitors, including universities, colleges, and career placement organisations providing a wide range of information. All of Canberra’s major VET and tertiary institutions will be exhibiting at this event.

The CareersXpo is a one-stop shop for information on careers, training and further education for students as well as adults considering a career change.

Student Ambassadors at an Expo

This year’s CareersXpo will also feature the inaugural Career Services for Migrants and Refugees stall as well as an Indigenous Employment Exhibition. Following the success of last year’s event, WorldSkills Australia’s Try’aSkill will return this year with a strong focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related trade and skill areas.

Entry to Canberra CareersXpo is free and everyone is welcome.
